Some Other Tips
If a group of cabinet drawers are stacked on top of one another and they all have the same width, but different heights, use the same length cabinet pull for all drawers.
As a rule of thumb, handles look proportionate when the length is approx. 1/3 the width of the drawer.
Most people will choose two or three different sizes to fulfill all their kitchen cabinet hardware needs. Even if you have 7 different sizes of cabinet doors and drawers, limiting yourself to three different sizes may help reduce visual clutter.
Why go longer? The higher cost and greater use of material give off a luxury vibe. Furthermore, long cabinet pulls may be useful for heavier drawers that may require two hands to open them.
